Junior Tennis at Lunesdale LTC

Lunesdale are this year trying to offer our junior members a more co-ordinated range of activities, some of these have existed before but not been well publicised, some are new. The fun tennis sessions will be available to non-members though there will be a small charge made per session for these, coaching sessions are also available to non-members but are charged for by our coach independently.
Junior membership is very reasonable, costing £27 for 11-18 y.o and £15 for under 11’s. Alternatively kids, why not drag your parents along too?? Family membership is £190 for the year, very reasonable when compared with the cost of joining the gym.
Members are supplied with "clubtags" which are designed to fit on your shoelaces as an easy way of displaying that you are a current member, if you are not wearing yours it will be assumed you are not a member so please ensure you fit them as soon as you get them.
The club has a Child Protection Policy in place that is published on the notice board in the clubhouse, the nominated person for children to contact in case of concerns is Janet Bowers on 01524 701368
The club has 3 grass courts for use in the summer months and 2 all weather tarmac courts with floodlights for use in the winter, the setting, down in the Lune Valley, is idyllic.
Junior Ladder
Depending on interest we are hoping to have a junior ladder running at the club. The membership forms allowed for juniors to express an interest in this but if you have not replied on this form and are interested please let me know. If you become interested through the season as your confidence builds, again let me know and I can add your name at the bottom.
Teams
We have Under 12 and U14 teams entered into the local leagues this year, matches are at 10am on a Saturday morning, if you are interested then please let me know or just turn up on a Saturday, you won’t get a game there and then but you can introduce yourself to the team.
L.T.A. Box Leagues
These are local "mini leagues" co-ordinated by Jon Griffin on behalf of the L.T.A. and are open to adults and juniors. Each League consists of 4 people, it is down to you to organise your own matches, each month there will be 2-3 to be played. If you win your league you are promoted, if you lose you are demoted, they are an invaluable way of getting match experience against a range of players of similar ability for players who are looking to improve their match play. If you remain keen and reach a decent standard you will have an opportunity to do as other juniors in the club have and play in the Youth Games. The venue for this rotates each year and it is a great opportunity to meet other children from other countries.
